Why Choose Standard Prototyping Resin?
Standard Prototyping Resin is the baseline SLA material developed for visual models requiring high detail precision and superior surface quality. Parts produced with Resin 3D Printing (SLA / DLP) feature a matte, homogeneous finish where layer lines are virtually invisible. This allows parts to be ready for painting with minimal sanding. It is the most economical and aesthetic solution for presentation models used in product launches, architectural detail models, figurines, and design verification studies.
Advantages
Flawless Surface: Offers surface smoothness closest to injection-molded plastics, providing an excellent base for sanding and painting.
High Detail: Clearly reveals micron-level fine details, text, and textures.
Economical: More cost-effective than engineering resins (Tough, High Temp, etc.), making it budget-friendly for voluminous visual projects.
Rapid Production: Optimized curing time accelerates the transformation of digital designs into physical models.
Limitations
Brittleness: Hard but brittle structure; it can break easily if flexed or dropped.
Heat Resistance: Low (approx. 50-60°C). Not suitable for tests under high temperatures.
Functionality: Not recommended for snap-fit or load-bearing tests (Tough/ABS-Like resin should be chosen for these).

Standard Resin FAQ
What projects is Standard Resin best for?
Standard prototyping resin is used when form and aesthetics are more important than mechanical durability. It is ideal for Concept Prototyping – Visual Models, desktop figurines, architectural scale models, and exhibition models to be painted.
How is the surface quality?
It is vastly superior to FDM technology. Parts come out with a “frosted glass” or “matte plastic” texture. With very light sanding, layer lines can be completely removed, making it ready for professional painting.
Can I make working mechanisms with this material?
Moving parts like gears or hinges can be printed, but since the material is brittle, running them under load is not recommended. For functional testing, ABS-Like Technical Resin is a better choice.
Can the parts be painted?
Yes. One of the biggest advantages of standard resin is its paintability. Primer adheres perfectly to the surface, allowing you to achieve end-product (mock-up) looks.
Can it be used outdoors?
Standard resins are sensitive to UV light and may yellow or become brittle over time in sunlight. If used outdoors, they must be coated with a UV-protective varnish.
What are the lead time and cost?
