Why Choose Clear Transparent Resin?

Clear Transparent Resin is a specialized photopolymer used in Resin 3D Printing (SLA / DLP) for prototypes requiring light transmission and optical clarity. While it appears like frosted glass straight out of the printer, it can achieve PMMA (Acrylic) clarity after sanding and clear coating. It is excellent for producing automotive light pipes, lighting fixtures, transparent electronic housings, and microfluidic channels for flow observation. It is the go-to solution in Concept Prototyping – Visual Models when visibility of internal components is required.

Advantages

  • Optical Clarity: With proper post-processing (sanding and clear coating), light transmission of over 85% can be achieved.

  • Smooth Surface: Capable of producing surfaces with minimal layer lines that feel like glass to the touch.

  • Fine Detail: Can print complex geometries and very fine channels (down to 0.2 mm) with high precision.

  • Watertight: Provides liquid tightness when printed solid, making it suitable for fluid flow testing.

Limitations

  • Post-Processing Required: It does not come out clear; professional polishing and varnishing are essential for optical clarity.

  • Yellowing: May yellow over time if exposed to UV light for prolonged periods (UV-protective coating helps delay this).

  • Brittleness: More brittle than standard plastics; it does not flex and may crack under impact.
