Recommended Technologies for Electronics

SLA Resin Printing
Ideal for smooth exterior casings, transparent display screens, and micro-detailed connectors.

FDM 3D Printing
ESD (Antistatic) material printing for manufacturing line PCB carriers and assembly jigs.

HP MJF
Serial production of durable electronic enclosures requiring snap-fit assembly and flexibility.

Vacuum Casting
Overmolding” (Soft-touch on rigid plastic) for keypads and pilot runs of 20-50 units
Critical Materials Used in Electronics
| Material | Technology | Properties | Applications |
|---|---|---|---|
| ESD Antistatic Resin | SLA/DLP Printing | Static-dissipative technical resin with surface resistance designed to protect sensitive electronic components. | PCB trays, tweezer tips. |
| Clear Transparent Resin | SLA/DLP Printing | Polishable resin that achieves glass-like transparency, perfect for lenses and transparent housing prototypes. | LED light pipes, display covers. |
| HTR High Temperature Resin | SLA/DLP Printing | Heat-resistant resin capable of withstanding temperatures over 150°C under load, ideal for thermal flow testing. | Soldering masks, heat sinks. |
| ABS-Like Technical Resin | SLA/DLP Printing | Highly detailed photopolymer resin that mimics ABS mechanical properties, offering superior impact resistance. | Battery covers, remote housings. |
| Elastic Resin (Soft) | SLA/DLP Printing | 80A Shore hardness flexible resin that is bendable and returns to its original shape, ideal for soft-touch parts. | Smartwatch straps, buttons. |
The Role of 3D Printing in Tech
Fit-Check & PCB Validation
Verify if the PCB fits perfectly into the enclosure, check connector alignment, and assembly clearances within hours using Rapid Prototyping. This eliminates tooling revision costs.
Cosmetic & Marketing Models (Mock-ups)
Even before a working circuit board is ready, produce painted “Dummy” models with realistic screens and buttons for investor presentations or product photography using our Visual and Concept Prototypes service.
ESD-Safe Manufacturing Tools
Static electricity (ESD) on production lines can fry sensitive chips. Replacing metal with lightweight, safe assembly fixtures produced using ESD Antistatic Resin reduces scrap rates.
Wearable Technology
Produce ergonomic, skin-contact safe (biocompatible), and flexible prototypes for smartwatches, VR headsets, or hearing aids.
Electronics Industry FAQ
Do the parts have static electricity (ESD) protection?
Yes. Especially for production line tools, we use ESD Resin or ESD Filament with tuned surface resistivity (dissipative) to protect your sensitive circuit boards.
Do snap-fit covers work?
Absolutely. By using non-brittle Nylon-Like Engineering Resin or PA12 materials, we can produce battery covers and locking mechanisms capable of repeated opening and closing.
Can you make light pipes?
Yes. We print light guides that transport LED light homogeneously using Clear Transparent Resin and polish them for optical clarity.
Is it resistant to soldering temperatures?
Standard materials won’t survive, but by using HTR High Temperature Resin, we can produce masking fixtures that withstand short-term wave soldering processes.
Can waterproofing (IP Rating) be achieved?
With the right design (grooves for gaskets, etc.) and material selection (e.g., PETG or SLA Resin), it is possible to produce prototype enclosures suitable for IP67 or IP68 testing.
Do you offer mass production?
For electronic enclosure needs up to 1,000 units, we provide rapid manufacturing support via tool-less production (MJF/SLS) or RIM Molding Service.
